The disastrous attacks of the Gurkhas fueled all this. I blame the staff.

Sneaky LYB's have dropped a "spanner" in the Siam-Vietnam supply route.

Even the bird is unattractive. Head like a Macy's parade balloon and the nostrils are too big too.

At least the wings fold nicely and you can't see all the damn rivets

Here is an example of superior esthetic product design. Waterproof. Lightweight. Aerodynamic.

Quite nice wing-folding scheme...I will grant you that....but it looks like it was designed in 1928 and assembled by a needlepoint club of old ladies.

Does that pinball machine those two guys are playing fit into that spacious canopy? That's a nice bonus to have on board for long over-water flights: the crew must have racked up some nice scores on that.
The pinball machine is the payload!

I'm just wondering if the Brits are capitalizing on Thai highlands noodle conquest. Surely M&M could use such inroads for 'the greater good'?

Oops...well..we have more of those. Nobody wants the crappy Fulmar
True, but you need a Fulmar trade-in when you go shopping for a Barracuda!
Note the TV antenna on the wing - waaaay ahead of its time!

You sure that's not ersatz camouflage, BB? It would supplement the foliage within the greenhouse too.

No - the doohickey on the wing is a mini-windmill. It acts like a super-charger. Just imagine how slow they'd be without it [:D]

Hey, BB,

Thise look like directional antennae on top of the wings. Were they part of a radio direction finding suite?

Radar?

Yes, possibly one side is the emitter and the other the receiver.

Also could be a passive radar detector or a directional beacon receiver and the lead plane is the pathfinder

It looks like the directional antennae are each 45 degrees off center line, 90 degrees off each other. That made me wonder about direction finding because a signal might register stronger on one or the other - turn to that side - or equally on both - source straight ahead. Dunno. I'm just guessing.

Radar?

Wikipedia says

The Barracuda Mk II carried the metric wavelength ASV II (Air to Surface Vessel) radar, with the Yagi-Uda antennae carried above the wings

It adds to the 'functional' look, I'd say
