v1.02.59 Beta available now

Post by SamSlitherine »

Hi Everyone,

Another new Public Beta is available for testing!

It is available from the Public Download area.

This public beta is also available on Steam, you will need to right click the game in your Steam library, select Properties and navigate to the BETAS tab; from there, opt into the Public Beta by selecting it from the drop down menu.

This public beta is also available on GOG, you will need to click the 'MORE' button in your GOG library, select Settings, turn Beta Channels ON and then select the Open Beta Channel from the drop-down menu.

v1.02.59 Beta Change Log

Bug Fixes
In some unusual cases, the Western Allies AI could take control of German occupied hexes without attacking, causing the German units to retreat after they took damage. Fixed.

I have the GOG version but I can’t find a Setting under the “More” button in my library. Is the beta only available through GOG Galaxy? I don’t use Galaxy.

Hi Edorf,

Unfortunately GOG Betas are only available through Galaxy. If you wish to take part through GOG, you will need to install Galaxy.

Thanks for your reply, Erik.

I was afraid I had to install Galaxy but that`s not going to happen too soon. Hopefully there will be an official release of a patch in a not so distant future:)

Has there been significant changes Allies in the number of causalities that the allies receive from about mid 44 on wards? It is 1945 and I am still 500 to 1000 aircraft lost per air phase most to flak and operational loses and I am having 500 to 800 afv lost per week event after turns where there has even minimal attacks due to heavy rain. It this normal?

James,

Are you flying your Allied air directive paths over heavy Axis AA concentrations? Or are you flying Ground Attack AD's more than three days per week, which causes fatigue, lowers morale, then increases operational losses?

You should NOT be having 500-1000 Allied plane losses per turn at that point in the game if your drawing your AD paths carefully around flak concentrations.

I just finished playing the 1943 to 1945 campaign playing as a the allies and the losses for both sides in 1945 seemed to be inflated, during air ops 200* German air losses 400* Allies air losses and that is after plotting around flak concentrations and reducing the number of days missions flown to 3 days or less particularly for bomber Command ( had to reduce to mostly 1 or 2 nights per week) and the US strategic air forces. Also 300 to 700* afv losses during Axis turns when there has only been a minimal number of axis attacks (when adding up losses from the combat reports to the after the axis turn losses screen there is a large disparity). Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi James,

I haven't noticed this. What level of competition are you playing at?

Hello Cary,

I was plating with customized difficulty, Allies at 100% for everything while the axis were set at 110% except for fort build level 100% and Admin level at 129%.

Cheers

James,

I play at 110% for Axis except for morale, and 100% for Allies, and I don't see the Allied losses you're seeing.

Is there anywhere in particular where the Allies got stuck or bled?

Cary,

I does not seem be localized to any land area. I seem to have less bomber command loses when ground attacking rail yard compared to strategic bombing.

On Bomber Command, if you're flying them at night, are you using your night fighters to do Night Intruder missions over German night-fighter air bases?

Why does the steam version say version 1.11.something?

WitE has a 1.11 something version, not WitW. Where on Steam are you seeing 1.11 for WitW?

I was down to the last few turns in a 1943-1945 campaign game when I started using the latest Public Beta. On the following turns I was unable to Create Depot in what appeared to be appropriate hexes. Has anyone else experienced this with the 1.02.59 beta?
