Public Beta hotfix 1.12.04 exe file

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Routs used to try and find their hq.

i think the new rout routine is not better than the old. atm
I agree with you BrianG. I know Morvael is hard at work on this so hopefully soon.

I had to delete 1.12.03 files

Working now.

What exactly did you do? My opponent has the same problem and is unable to fix it.

Well, at least they know the shortest path that will save them from encirclement. The problem is distance to enemy is not accounted for, only distance from initial hex. So the target is correct according to current priorities, but should be improved.

This is also factored in, and priority was boosted in the last patch, but it's not the most important factor (distance to supply source will always be number 1).

It's better in some aspects (speed, ability to rout inside pockets), it's worse in others (target hex selection, which can hopefully be fixed by adjusting priorities, and adding extra criteria).

Offset moves after adding distance to enemy hexes as 4th highest scoring factor:

I had one unit this turn that retreated along my front line from hex to hex three times instead of moving away from the enemy. Not a problem, just to let you know.

Soars high above the clouds;
Meanwhile, the nightingale intones
With sweet, mellifluous sounds.

I have have seen the same thing in my games. But would not retreating down the front line incur retreat losses in ZOC?

I think retreat losses are by MPs, not ZOCs.
As I said it is not a problem and gives the attacker multiple attacks on a weakened unit, so could be a benefit to either side depending on the state of the war at that location. However it just seems odd, my feeling is priority should be given to moving away from the enemy ahead of moving towards an HQ.

Matrix has finished the installer and just got the green light to release it. It will probably be available within 24-48 hours.

Playing as Axis, getting flogged as usual, but I just saw a Soviet Cavalry unit, seemingly in supply, surrender. (I have also seen a Sov div surrender on T1). What are the rules for this?
Molotov : This we did not deserve.

Foch : This is not peace. This is a 20 year armistice.

I think if you can wear them down to depleted they will surrender.
