I think it quite unrealistic that both the Axis and the Allies can declare war on these nations individually.

It leads to a race for Luxembourg on the first few turns. And Germany always takes the Netherlands early.
I don't see why Belgiulm wouldn't mobilize once its very close neighbours are occupied.

This has been researched by me thoroughly. Belgium would have never joined the Allies no matter what happened.

If you want to stuff the Germans then send an Allied corps or 2 into the Netherlands capital the turn they invade.

UK also gets a lot of MMs from Netherlands and a naval unit.

Fair points.

How about the Allies attacking Luxembourg?

I did send two UK corps. One in Amsterdam has blocked all its assault for two turns thanks to bad weather.
But, at the end, I was obliged to evacuate... pretty historical (another Narvik [:(]).

My goal was just to inflict him few more losses.

I am reading Churchill's WWII series again, and in April 1940, he said at a Strategic War Command meeting with the French that they agreed they would enter Belgium IF the Netherlands were invaded and not Belgium.

Hypothetical I know, but if the Germans then invaded Belgium, which side do you think the Belgium's would have fought against?

Against Germany I would say. Secret contacts between Belgians and French were already existing.

But, I would say that, as the French were not in a situation to attack, what would have been the Belgian reaction if Netherlands were invaded?

Not sure that the Belgian army was ready to fight alone.

Thus, two choices:
1. Decide to reinforce secret contacts and do not provoke Germany at all costs
2. Declare war against Germany but then enter in another phoney war.

Just my opinion

Yep, and I am not about to guess. Hypothetical as I said.

It doesn't affect the pace of the game really. I did modify the weather so there are no clear turns in the winter. That did have an impact.

Originally I looked to have Belgium join the Allies but they were adamantly neutral about it. They even had forces against the Allies during that time. Mind boggling.

Well....Germany did double-pinky swear not to invade them again.
