Belgian forces bugging out for France

Post by magic87966 »

This question may have more to do with how hard it is to work on AI than anything else.

I’m playing my first game as the Axis. When I invaded Belgium, a few Belgian ground units took off for France. I would think the Belgian forces would stay and fight for their country. Even if historically some Belgian units escaped to France (?), since they disappear after conquest, there is no reason for them to do so in the game. I would think (I have NO programming experience) it would be fairly easy to code the AI minor forces to never leave their homeland.

I just started and I’m loving this game.

In the game, when Germany declares war on Belgium, Belgium is going in the Allies side like they did historically. As such, I see no reason to prevent them to retreat in France for reinforcements and to fight another day.

Agreed, however in the game, when they retreat (as the AI), they’re never getting back to Belgium in time.

It's programmed to run when units are low. French units should take up the front if the condition is right.
