There is a saying that if the parachute dies not open then skydiving is not for you. Well, that is not always the case:

There was a man in parachute training who "Was the last one out and the first one down" since his parachute did not open. He fell 3500 feet, did a commando roll, walked away with minor injuries, then jumped again two weeks later. He was about 31 years old then, when he was 17 he grabbed a couple of hand grenades of which at least one exploded under him. He started high school wearing a blue ribbon with stars on it with a medal attached to the ribbon. He also had a wife who tried to kill him.

Good morning.

Yes, that is funny.

BTW, Jack Luca's autobiography is titled "Indestructible: The Unforgettable Story of a Marine Hero at the Battle of Iwo Jima."

Good morning Leo. May you and yours be well, safe, and may the Earth not move under your feet unless someone is setting off explosives . . . [8D]

Well. Today I was told that I'm going to be put on furlough for three weeks, sitting at home on 80% wages. Then I'll go back to work and one of the other guys will get the same. Not great, but at least I'll (a) have a job still and (b) have a lot of free time. So I'm gonna go dig out my old PC from the garage and copy all my old art stuff across to my new PC so I can have all my ships in camouflage when I start a game of AE against the AI again [:)]

Knowing that you have a job to come back to is good news, Dixie! [8D]

I'm working on the assumption that food factories are usually pretty safe, at least as far as catching a virus goes. Having any single symptom of COVID-19 is enough to mean you aren't allowed in and they're keen on hand washing for the most part.

I may just take you up on the offer though, even if I'm not sick and feverish [:D]

Because I now have three weeks off coming up and because it's my birthday soon and because I had a 47% off coupon.... I've bought PanzerCorps 2. Then I can add it to my list of games I need to finish.

Witcher 3
Alien Isolation
This is the Police
Battletech
Beat Cop
Frostpunk
Metro 2033
Resident Evil 2
Sunless Sea

I also want to watch Westworld, This Country, Peaky Blinders, The Witcher, Altered Carbon, Narcos, Fargo and a bunch of films. Maybe three weeks won't be long enough. Plus I can watch the Blu-Ray super long version of Das Boot.

Fargo

I lived just north of the hometown of "Hooker #2" from the movie Fargo, a town called White Bear Lake. Listen for her speaking line in the movie, "Go Bears!". That was the local quote du jour that we all chuckled about when greeting one another.

That is a nice area to live with a few lakes around. North of there, a guy that I was riding with was thinking about helping a farmer weed his corn field. It would have to be done at night as a person would not want to be seen harvesting that weed . . .

Famous people who have lived near where I have lived:
Robert Webb lived in the next village over from where I am now.
Margaret Thatcher was born near to where I grew up.
Bernie Sanders' brother lived near RAF Brize Norton when I was there.

And, it's a bit before my time. Robert Falcon Scott was born in the same city as I was. Come on you Janner! [:D]

There is a rumour in Britain that Larry's brother is in to politics too. Is this true?

Looks like the UK are calling up some of the military reservists. I suspect that Hawker Hurricane engine fitter/airframe rigger will not be a needed skill [:D]

I've seen what they did the CO detectors on the aircraft in short order. I think the NHS might prefer something a bit less, um, poisony [:D]
