No, all units of a given side are displayed. There is no risk for the Axis to see what the Allies are doing.

With the FoW system you can set up deception also.

In one of my games I kept rotating armor along the Russian Front. My opponent remarked how clever it was because he never knew where my reserves were.

Nothing wrong, this great addition was done just before the official release and Matrix did not take the very latest file. It will be in the next patch and hopefully with my advancements report. [;)]
