Screen goes blank during loading

I've taken a break from playing my PBEM due to real life interfering with my opponents ability to game play for about two months. I've done some work in the Editor on BTS mod work. Last night and again this morning I've tried to load that scenario and then any other in the AE - BTS folder. When the actual scenario is loading, the red bar goes about 75% across and then the screen goes completely blank before going back to desktop. It does not matter which scenario I choose from. What happened and more importantly, how do I fix it? Thanks in advance... [:)]

Do you have a second monitor that you can use? Does the same thing happen to other programs?....GP

At around 75%, warning box that says it detected scenario was modified, should appear. It seems this is some error with scenario, or its graphics. Typical CTD, reinstall might help.

Sadly, I once had problem with editor, and whole scenario was corrupted. At half of ships file, data became completely scrambled and unreadable. Open scenario in editor, and check all tabs at the end, if they show correct values.
