"Dead spot" in the map

Post by RPKUPK »

I upgraded to v06.
I'm playing Europe Italian Option.
Since the upgrade I've noticed a dead spot in the map on my laptop when the game is open. It's in the upper mid left. I don't know if it's more than one square, I think it's several hexes that when you put the pointer on it the unit does not click or light up. You have to scroll up or down to operate that same unit and/or get its information. I'd say 5 to 6 hexes from the left upper corner and 2 to 3 hexes down from the top, is the dead zone.
Otherwise appearance and operation are normal.

1 other person had that problem and never got back to me on it. I can't replicate it.

Is this a new game you started? New load?

Or were you playing several games back and forth from the main menu when it happened? Could be a var didnt clear that I forgot about.

It's as I said, a new game on version 6 'Europe Italian Option' it's been there the whole game from turn to turn and I'm in early 1941.
I have a game saved from version 5 -- I'll open that up and check it out.

Do you mean you can't perform a left click on one of your unit? I also have problems like that with the latest official patch but for the moment I cannot find a sequence to reproduce it.

I always have that problem - upper left. I need to scroll up and get the hex further down the screen

Yup that is the problem and I can't replicate it. So I don't know where to look. I can literally go to the upper left hand corner just below the menu and click a unit.

Now you can't click another unit if the unit selector is already on one.

Can confirm there is a "dead spot". Really minor issue though, slightly move the map and you can select the unit.

Can someone post a screen shot to show exactly where this is.

I find a way to reproduce. First, open the Production screen.

Then, close it and try to left click on the units in the red circle below. It won't work on the first unit. But, then it work on the second click. Is it reproducible on your side?

I can't replicate that. And that is the 1st thing you did opening a new game from a new load?

Or have you been playing a while, went back to the main screen and started a new game?

Very strange as I have no code that locks part of the screen from the main menu.

I have done more tests. Yes this is the first thing I did starting the game and opening a new Europe 1939 scenario.
100% reproducible for me.

I have never had this happen to me in hundreds of test games.

Did you go into a menu then exit? What exactly do you do once you are in a game?

Starting the game from Windows 10

In the splash screen, select:
1. Europe 1939
2. Hotseat
3. Start

In the main interface:
1. Close Turn Report window
2. Scroll right to have units in upper left
3. Open Production window
4. Close it
--->. try to left click some units in upper left (works first time)
5. Open Production window
6. Close it
---> try to left click some units in upper left (usually you will have problems)

Try several times

I still have this problem and now with 1.00.07U72, sometimes the mouse wheel (for zoom-in, zoom-out) is no longer working when I am downloading my PBEM turn.
Anyone else have this problem?
