Dixie, your ship looks nice and so, but I am wondering about the colouring of the flag. It seems a bit weird. Not that I mind but I had to ponder a while before I got what flag it actually is. Or maybe I got it wrong? Maybe that is the best solution for it in black and white?

This isn't a complaint. I am just curious. Since it must be a designer choice to have the flag like that.

I was going for a hand drawn look. Like the kind of stuff you doodle on a bit of scrap paper when you're bored.

Looks like forward planning. A b&w flag can more easily have some lines erased when Scotland and Wales decide to go their own way ... [:(]

Which part of the flag needs to be erased when Wales goes its own way?

One of the x crosses. I know the Scots one is St. Andrews cross. The Welsh one might be St. David's cross. The big red + cross is St. George's.

The White on Blue Cross is Scotland, the diagonal red cross is Ireland, and the vertical/horizontal red cross is England. Only three crosses [:D]

Here is the flag of Wales

When did they get rid of the French symbol? Or is that just for individuals?

1802 Treaty of Amiens UK agreed to stop calling the British monarch King of France. Funny that the French Republic asked for that but the French kings never did?

Because Wales was considered part of England, and not a separate Kingdom, when the flag was created?

Wales got a Prince from England, which is more than Scotland or Ireland did. [:D]

Didn't England get a King from Scotland?

Well, Wales did get a Prince from England. But I think Scotland, and Ireland, both got a King, or Queen, from England. And, usually, a King beats a prince. [:D]

Almost there. The Clue is in the name. United Kingdom. Wales is just a Principality.

I thought I had it with my answer above - Because Wales was considered part of England, and not a separate Kingdom, when the flag was created?

This post that you quoted was just me fooling around.

But that's because there's no such thing as a Princedom. Or is there? [&:]
