Problems Running Korsun Pocket on a Laptop

KP installs without a problem on my Toshiba Satellite laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce 4 440 graphics card running Windows XP, but when I try to run the program, the screen flashes a few times and then nothing comes up. Sometimes I see some of the credits graphics in a small box, sometimes not. The menu stays visible, and a tag on the windows bar shows the game is running and I hear some sounds. If I click on the open program tab on the task bar, the screen flashes up black and then diappears. I have never had any problem running any game on this machine, and the game installs and runs just fine on my desktop, so I don't think its the disk. I have removed and reinstalled both the program and DirectX 9, but no luck. Any ideas?
