Can't upgrade to latest version (2.30)

Post by Finkster »

My Machine
==========
WinME
DirectX 9.0B

Problem Description
===============
Unable to upgrade from V2.20 to V 2.30. The upgrade appear to work normally, however, the game will not start, machine appears to be looping, doing lots of activity, signifying nothing.

Already Tried
==========
Uninstalling, then reinstalling from CD, peforming updates 2.10, 2.11, 2.20, all of which run fine. Then run 2.30, and I fail.

Possible Clue
==========
Running TrueUpdate from the original Install does not detect that I need an update.

Please respond.

Best Regards,

Finkster

The is one very strange point about the 2.3 patch

I have a CD ROM and a CD Burner. Effectively then I have 2 CD players

I installed the game from the D: drive – the CD ROM

All the patches worked fine until patch 2.3

If I insert the D to the D: drive the game will not run. Instead, I have to insert the CD into the E: drive – the CD burner.

If you have a second CD drive, insert the CD there.

Mine works like that too but reversed. I installed from the burner and UV will not run with the CD installed in the burner, just when in the CD-ROM.
