Thank you John, I am flattered. Your AAR is also excellent and that seem that you are old no offense wargamer and that you know how to play it. TOAW really kind of stimulates imagination of all wargames. Like some chess. My friend was very good at chess and liked TOAW.

Lol, none taken. I've been playing since my 7th b-day when my mother bought me Avalon Hill's 1914 and Battle of the Bulge!

LOL [:D]
I have anecdote from USA when I was gaming journalist. It was 1999. some E3, And there was Jim Rose that I met. At first guy was strange to me, cold, but when I said that I was fan of TOAW, he relaxed a bit and told me HOW PROUD he is that he watched Norm Koger design TOAW behind his back in the office. Nice story. That was long time ago.

[:)] Thanks John, you are nice fellow.
ps. I don't like that Norm Koger is not even mentioned in the credits. Still changes in TOAW 4 are not so big so they
should put original design by Norm Koger. I don't with that devaluate effort of Ralph and Bob and they are much appreciated.
But real design is still by God of wargaming Norm Koger, so credit go where is due.
And Sid Meier also is a wargamer at heart, remember games for C64 and Atari 800XL Nato Commander, Crusade in Europe and Decision in the Desert. That was maybe 1984 or 1985.

Rat Patrol From Fort Bragg Turn 25 (end of turn) October 17, 1992
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
There was a strange activity in Brussel, NATO command HQ... NATO conference was taking place and General John Donahue, was giving his views on all NATO fronts and advising what
they should do now....
...."Situation is very serious my friends.... 350 miles southeast of Kandalasha one whole Russian army jumped upon our tired and undersupplied columns of mosltly Swedes and Norwegians but there is also our commandos and some UK, Ireland, USA troops... They still didn't attacked but continued to advance north of us and now they stood menacing on our right flank, 4 very dangerous mech or tank divisions of 5th Tank Guard Army and one airmobile brigade. We will see if they gonna attack us, we will try to cut them off and destroy them piece by piece. Two problems: our units are very weak on supply and tired after endless marching and opponent have very strong units and we will certanly have big losses either way... But we hope that we will be victorious here after all, because certain reinforcements are streaming all the time, even one whole US corps shipped by ships from USA and then railed up north through Norway and Sweden.
In Germany enemy is constantly attacking our positions near Braunschweig. They have enermous losses in hundreds of tanks but our losses are not small and we have to contantly rotate fresh and tired, decimated troops and think of some clever tactical support traps for enemy... We must held here at all cost.
Around Katowitze we are resting, we have here considerable strength in number of units and maybe we will in near future try offensive against Warsaw. Personally I am a bit of afraid of such operation as we must secure both flanks and enemy is enormous powerful here so he could maybe check our advance very soon after start. South of Lvov and Lublin in mountain area enemy counterattacked but not very powerful attack. We will also here rest a while and think if there is a chance of some offensive (only if there is good oportunity and not too dangerous mission).
Around Chernowitze, offensive is rolling nicely. First enemy counterattacked by some powerful tank units but we destroyed them, only a few units remain to be destroyed and we will take Chernowitze, very important strategic town as it opens up avenues for advance toward, Lvov, Kiev, Odesas, Crimea, Vinnitsa, Zhitomir.... After capturing Burgas, Tursk jumped of and captured Iashi and Kishinev. Enemy will surely send some forces to check our advance so we must be prepared to meet them.
In Caucaus, north of Kirovabad we destroyed some enemy units and captured important mountain passes but we will not advance north to not disturb parked 7 powerful units in Stalingrad area, for now we will defend here. Meanwhile we will take care to capture Tbilisi, Batumi and Baku...
In Batumi are there are still few enemy divisions encircled we will destroy them soon. Already we destroyed some and that released our troops to help situation north of Kirovabad.
Battle for Baku is in full swing, we have destroyed some Iraq units and all their force is encircled and out of supply (only port in Baku can bring them some) but they are still very strong here and we will try to destroy them piece by piece. South of Baku they still hold important passes and we cannot advance here until they are send up north and we predict that they will have to release the grip on the passes or we will soon be atop of them from the north once we clear situation around Baku and destroy remaining 3 to 4 Iraq tank units...."

Yes, computer player is not programmed but Elmer is giving me pretty good match because WP is very strong. Now he have send one whole tank army against me so some challenge there is. Set WP to play AI in option or NATO whichever you prefer. You also have my AAR as some guideline, scenario is very fun even in this partial state. We are all waiting for some good soul to take care about this scenario, improve on it and take care of few mistakes, bugs etc... Or play it by PBEM.

Who said that Elmer is so stupid? Well, he have me thinking here over situation. He was very smart and just kept on advancing over my north right flank. Very dangerous situation. That is whole Soviet 5th GD Tank Army.
