Hi everyone,

This afternoon (British Summer Time) I'll be doing a Command Pro live stream on Twitch, LinkedIn and YouTube.

If you've ever wanted to see the Pro features in action, this is your chance!

Also I'll be revealing a previously unseen capability... [:D]

Come join the stream at 1500 BST on Tuesday 21 April

Sweet. I'll try to watch live, but if not definitely catch the vod.
Is one of those features the one that showed up in a recent beta but now seems to be gone in the latest?

No, this has never been seen outside of WarfareSims and attendees at a recent Pro event [:)]

It's been discussed as a wanted feature on this forum in the recent past, however...

Strike planner? Will it be a Pro feature only?

Note they look like they run the pro edition off of the CMNAO base, not CMO.

So with being able to integrate a program like DCS with Pro Edition, would you also be able to integrate two different Pro Edition programs together, both feeding and receiving information to each other in the way that DCS does with Pro to create a real-time multiplayer situation?

Missed it live by about an hour, but caught the vod!
I loved the comment about lua as you were getting started. [:)]
[X(]drooling[X(]

Seems like with Command PE and the lua via sockets you could effectively have semi - multiplayer already, so long as player 2 or the watcher so to speak desired actions are lua'able, and he himself gets general local situational picture by building a scenario dynamically from dumped data via feeds (i'm assuming the self imposed lua restrictions for extensions etc are gone in PE) or even just tailing the output of a feed to file. Must be cool for those pe clients doing war gaming with a human on the other end also able to react or inject unexpected challenges playing the opposing force. Seems like most the MP building blocks are now in place and some clients are already stitching it together. Very impressive, both on your side, and theirs.

Cool reveal with getting updates from external sources.

Looking forward toward the next one, thanks for showing off some of the features of the professional edition(s) and what your working on.

Just have to say what you guys have done is amazing,

What would be cool is if that last thing shown worked the opposite way that what you did in Command would show up in a simulator style window (think like the old Harpoon cut scenes during launches but with ability to stay on unit, kinda like combining Tacview with more detailed models)

This would be a huge undertaking and require massive system resources I would assume, but would make for incredible immersion.

Integration with flight sims and other sims is a huge advantage in the pro world, example:

Using a baseline constructive simulation to replicate the unit and formation level of ground combat, we routinely feed the aggregate data through some proprietary software to VBS which then allows the various entities to be 'seen'. You need to do this so you can provide UAV based full motion video (FMV) to the training audience. Where it gets tricky is where we have other air activity (such as an airmobile operation) going on or, if the training audience is using that FMV for targeting and using aircraft to service the targets.

Using the functionality revealed today, all of the air activity (including the UAVs) could be controlled in CMO or a mix where some are controlled in VBS and the rest are in CMO but seen in VBS (FMV), or if we are exercising pilots we have some other simulators that would feed CMO from them in their sim-cockpits.

Huge flexibility and takes a massive coordination task and makes it relatively easy.

It was a professionally produced stream. Well done by all. But, can the data from Orbiter be used to create a cockpit like experience in the Pro version of Command?

Orbiter is the best free software ever created:

http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/

Hands down. I would be very surprised if the Developers don't know about Orbiter over the years. Just thinking out of the box. Might want to contact the one and only programer. The guy would pick up lua in a second due to the C vs lua syntax similarity.

But, nothing we saw today was actually attainable on the retail side. Pretty boring in effect. Rorry said at one point we are doing this because we are all at home. So your retail business consumers were thrown an unattainable bone due to the pandemic. Nice marketing.
