1941 Battle of Brody Update 2

Post by Robert24 »

Good day all,

Update 2: Corrected date and victory condition issues. [:)]

I just uploaded a modification. The name is 1941 Battle of Brody. It takes place in western
Ukraine in the first couple weeks of Operation Barbarossa. The Soviets counter-attacked the
Germans with an armored force that exceeded the number of tanks that were counted in the more
famous battle of Kursk. Enjoy. Let me know how it goes.

The Update 2 Dropbox link is below.

I have placed your mod in C:\Users\NAME\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War In Europe\Campaigns\_1941 Battle of Brody but nonetheless it does not show up when selecting either single player or hotseat.

Any ideas of what I may doing wrong?

I updated the game to latest version v1.17.02.

Thanks.

I tried opening the mod with the scenario editor and I got a convoy.txt missing error message.

rjh1971,
I am looking into this now.
Some problems on my end might or might not have anything to do with what you report.
I will work on this.

Hi Robert
Played against the AI as Germans and by July 7th I had taken all the cities in the map but nonetheless no victory screen popped up. Maybe you can look into it.
Another strange thing is that casualties in both sides are linear an incremental which can't be, damaged inflicted and suffered was different in each turn.
Overall a fun and quick scenario to play as Germany.
I will now try the soviet side and see if I can stop the Germans...

As the soviets I lasted until July 21st before the Germans destroyed all soviet units, well the last one was lost due to lack of supply by attrition.
If you could make the scenario end at least when all units are destroyed or cities taken the scenario will improve.
It could also make it more interesting if you could get some mmp, even if it is very low, after the initial one is spent there is no way to reinforce units and make it last longer.
When I played with the Germans I lost two tank units and a scout.
With the soviets I inflicted heavier losses to the German AI, all in all it was fun.
Thanks for taking the time to do it.

Hi rjh1971,

I'll look into why the game continues beyond the set dates in the editor and the victory scripts are not firing. It must be related to the version upgrade and conversions that were needed. A work in progress. [:)]

The MPP loss graph is indeed strange. [X(] Might have something to do with the date issue. I'll check.

I am glad you commented on how I configured the MPP collection. I tried to limit the at-start MPP to simulate what replacements and reorganization capability each side would have within the limited scope of the game. Maybe I did not get it right. I'll watch this.
