This one is new to me. Looks promising. LnL Digital.

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

Wow, it's kind of incredible how little information they provide in that link. So I can tell it is a platoon level WWII game, but that's it. What nations are included? Not mentioned... Editor? Who knows...

I get that it's early access, but surprising that they wouldn't give potential players a bit more info to help decide whether they want to try early access. As for right now, given the almost complete lack of info about the game, I'll pass.

It's based on their board game of the same name.

I advise you not to buy this game[:-]
which requires a third party account(Requires agreement from a third EULA) which is difficult to install, difficult to connect and which cops your PC for obscure reasons.
Besides, this thread reminds me of a new covid thread.[:D]

I'll be getting it as soon as it's available too. Can't go wrong with $5.

Well that’s only the core game, you need the dlc modules to flesh things out.

Core (dunno how many scenarios)

Modules

Just like LnL Tactical Digital

Core with 4 intro scenarios

Modules

Why have pictures of cardboard counters in a computer game? There is so much more than can be done.

because it's a digital implementation of a board game that uses counters? I mean, just spitballing here....

um, a lot of computer gamers don't follow board games. I've never heard of it and am not really interested in researching a board game which the computer game may or may not closely resemble. Would it really be so hard to actually describe the game in any kind of detail?

just spitballing here, but a lot of companies show illustrations of the actual game they're selling?

Best quick description of the game.

Core game comes with a tutorial and two scenarios.

Swap Meet
July 17th, 1944, France

Aw Nuts
December 25th, 1944 Belgium

No Bridge Too Far (Tutorial)
October 2nd, 1944 France

Personally I’d emphasize pulse game play and a lot of dice throwing.
I am on the fence.

Bought it - plus both modules - played the wrong scenario (presentation issue, has been fixed according to LnL) and did not enjoy the mechanics. Too much dice throwing, the way the board moves, the looks - looked upscaled on my 1440p monitor. I refunded, but am thinking about re-buying at least the core game to see if the system can grown on me.

That said Nations at War is probably what many of you grognards will enjoy, especially the dice and pulses.

That said although different in many ways I do enjoy LNL Tactical Digital straight from the first play.
Refined to what you may know from LnL Heroes of Stalingrad, it also has impulses and dice, but IMO it plays very different.

So why mention this at all.
1. Both are LnL titles
2. Released within two weeks from one another
3. If you do not like one, you might still like the other
4. If you like one, you do not automatically like the other
5. LnL Tactical Digital is based on the same game as Heroes of Stalingrad - look, feel and core design based on the boardgames
