Warplan is a World War 2 simulation engine. It is a balance of realism and playability incorporating the best from 50 years of World War 2 board wargaming.
Warsaw is the target so it has automatically an airfield (nothing built).
Concretely, what is the consequence of this message? Is there any impact on the air unit that I bombed?
If so, can we explain it better in the Airfield Strike report?
Thanks

OK I see. In general, you are displaying the name of the unit that's why. Do you think a message like this is clearer?
Defender Losses
1st Air Div grounded: 1
When the 1st Air Div scramble, we see it elsewhere.

Why would it be? You usually can't know which flightgroup's airbase you are bombing. No such Bomber go so close to read the icons, as they are on the ground.
Interceptors may not be the one your are bombing, it could flew from somewhere else.
Well in any Air to Air combat report, the names of the involved units are always displayed.
I was wondering why this is not the case in this particular case.
I just wanted to hear that the unit is actually taking losses and that an Airfield Strike is useful.
Changing the message is just for this clarification.

I just ran some test with hotseat, it seems bombing airfield and it's casualty displayed as "enemy field" is calculated fine, it's loss is recorded in the casualties, and is reflected on that unit's strength.
you may use hotseat mode to test is aswell[;)]
And about it's unitname not showing i think it's out of historical reasons.
You may be bombing an airbase A, while some interceptors from airbase B tried to protect. In that case, as the distance between planes in a dogfight could be very close, and radio communication would be very active (which could be heard by both sides, just with correct frequency), identifying would not be very hard. Though, bombing would give any help on identifying airbase A. Most airbases looks all the same, and would contain both fighters and bombers.
in the end you would only know who intercepted you, but you can't match interceptors with bases when they are more than one, and could not know who exactly you are bombing. Game did it well for now.
Only one thing, in opponent ally's battle report is still displayed as "enemy airfield", which actually should be "friendly."

Thanks for your test and good catch for this minor bug.
