Some questions before buying

Post by NotOneStepBack »

I saw this game on Steam and it looks like a more advanced HOI4. Less complex than WITE/WITW, but a bigger version (grand strat) of TOAWIV. Is that correct? A few more questions before I buy...

1. Worth the full price?
2. Is the PBEM active? Looks like a decent community is here. How long does a PBEM game take? How long does a turn take?
3. Is it possible to win as Axis? How balanced is the game?
4. How deep does the OOB go?
5. How is the AI in single player?

Thanks guys.

My answers

1 If you have the money: yes. If you do not, there are apparently more vital purchases than games, according to my wife aka the real Sillyflower, but she doesn't like games so what does she know?

2 I have 8 or 9 on the go at the moment, so I think that is a 'yes'

3 Yes. THE VP system allows that. Also see the AARs

4. Not quite sure what you mean by 'deep', but there is a lot of interesting complexity and choice

5 Probably average for a game like this, but I've only played 1 such game. There are lots of difficulty levels

8 or 9 games! That's crazy :)

I am playing PZ Corps 2 and one WITE game at the moment, I guess I could fit in WarPlan if you can do 9.

By OOB, I guess I mean it's not as detailed as WITE, but it goes as low as division? Can you upgrade models within the divisions like PZIIA to PZIV, etc.?

You can break corps into divisions and also recombine. Upgrading is little more generic. You have advancements by the year. For example, if you research Heavy Tanks, each new year gives additional combat upgrades.

I took the plunge and bought it on Steam. Probably will mess around a bit before opening up to PBEM, but it looks good guys!

I am playing PZ Corps 2 and one WITE game at the moment,

I played masses of wite but bdon't think I ever had more than 3 on the go, and probably 2 max when working. Multiple turn per day were a great rarity outside mud turns. WarPlan has much quicker turns.

Maybe I will play you one day. I can't remember if we played a WiTE game
