--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No problem. Italian is like a native tongue for me

I sensatamente feel myself authorized to suppose that, when finally you read these lines, many of you will be already return you of malavoglia from the vacations? I ask if also quest?anno you will be resolutions to make conquests on the beach, from good galletti Vallespluga which you are? Sapete well that you will not see again under the sunlight those bikini mozzafiato and those legs from urlo until all?anno next, true? And then? You are really ready for rituffarvi in the cynical ruotine every day, forgetting the extreme and godurioso pleasure about one fresh divorata d?anguria slice wildly under the idle beach umbrellas of the Lydian inhabitants of Romagna? Unfortunately l?estate it is ended, and with it it seems is dileguando also the overwhelming sultriness that it wanted to see to us to suffocate with slow agony, mormorando uselessly: my reign for an air conditioner!!!??. I hope sincerely that, for better or for worse, there are however you amuse yourself and rilassati, because hour is time to recommence. And I recommence just telling you of my adventures d?Agosto: you must know that they are made a beautiful stroll me in earth of Spain, where, in quality of tricolour tourist (me lacked only the T-shirt Toto Cutugno, from true?italiano, but for the rest compiutamente I was equipped from classic fantozziano traveller), they are a lot amused, tasting with estasiato look the healthy natural beauties of the Catalogna and the remarkable architectonic works to me of Gaudí (on purpose: Barcelona is one wonderful city? it deserves indeed of being visited!). that c?importa? you will be sure thinking! Beh? we say that just during my excursion in those calienti chain plates me they are imbattuto in a pusher of videogames, an independent importer a lot very supplied, through which, without not to suffer, they are successful makes me to recapitare to house a copy of the title it that it is object of this book review, and that I go endured to describe to you? We speak about TITANS OF STEEL? Warring Suns, a game of niche immesso recently on the market from Matrix Games, that happening is destined to obtain a discreet one, creating itself just I manipulate of becomes attached to you estimative. Will be also you taken dall?ossessione for these?titani d?acciaio? To this purpose, I suggest to a small and fast test to you detector; lend therefore attention to the following questions: 1) You have, opportunely, played to Battletech (developed for the Amiga platform of the Commodore)? In case the answer is affirmative, still remembered of how much was amusing? 2) You are therefore gets passionate you of games with the Mech (I mean those large ones armors to you from war with legs, feraciously armed, than trasudano one sure top? industrial gravity) not to never lose not even a title to you it that it has far also to that to make with these?sferraglianti? technological wonders? 3) You are in office and you would want to play with the PC in equipment instead working, in spite of your schiavista head whom it would want to you always productive, ventiquattro hours on ventiquattro? The hermit of Windows provokes of the convulsive crises from refusal (by now to you would gain it to eyes sluices, with the hands tied behind the back, cliccando on the keys of the mouse with the language)? Not felt, for case, l?esigenza of some new videoludico stimulus? 4) Me mistake if I say that, already for a long time, felt ridicolizza dall?industria you of videogames because of pomposi indispensable requirement of system to the games of last generation, than its useless 400 prevent you to make to turn something of decent on your Pentium II (with i MHz can by now use it solo like post-modern ornament)? And, parimenti, me mistake if I assert that not sapete to that Saint voting you also in order to only succeed to try something of recent that it indeed knows to you to amuse? 5) You are, for case, of the fan sfegata you of the Japanese series type?Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, where there are enemy armies that are faced for means of robottoni constructed in series, and you would want to play with something that you only vaguely somigli also? Well? if you have answered with a weighted?si!? at least one of these questions, then means that TITANS OF STEEL? Warring Suns? he is that that ago to the case yours, the product that you were trying and that you did not succeed scovare? But of what draft more just? We behind make a small jump in the time, returning the far years?80, when the FASA Inc

Wow, sounds like some Vino was involved in that "review".

I would also like to see "under the sunlight those bikini mozzafiato and those legs from urlo" and would like to "slice wildly under the idle beach umbrellas of the Lydian ingabitants of Romangna".

Yeah, baby...

Is he the guy that did the TOS v1.4 Italian Manual? I no longer have a copy and can't check. It should be available somewhere.

An approximate translation (I don't mean to be offensive)... like the last one someone did about another article by me (in this case maybe I'm a little offensive... but only a little :D)... so don't feel bothered about the "entire" review (by the way... that is only the intro, and it's deliberately witty, 'cause it was released at the beginning of september: the sad period of the year when italian people return at their jobs after the summer holidays... that's the reason why I was speaking about summer holidays, legs, bikini, etc... the full review consists of about 12 pages and that it's only the first one... the other pages are more relevant and accurate).
Sometimes ago I promised to translate in english my old article in a properly way, but I didn't do... it was my fault, but I don't have much spare time lately :( and so I didn't have the time and the will to do that.
Maybe when I will have some spare time I will translate both...
I still visit this forum sometimes but not so often as I used to do in the past.
Anyway I read this thread :p

Campaigns 1 and 2 were designed by Eric (rosary), I just enhanced them a bit. They were a bit messy, and Eric was unavailable for some time during beta. The idea was his :p

What's the link to the article? I'd like to see which inaccuracies you came up with this time...

Hold on, couldn't get past page 2 yet, with all the "intro" crap... no wonder it's 12 pages long. I guess the real review will start around page 11 or so.

Global vote 80/100
"Ambientation" vote 7.9
Implementation vote 6.2
Playability vote 8.6

Endless dissertation about BattleTech and FASA
Endless short version of the manual
Two elements add suspense to the game, the turn system and the "deadly" realism of the encounters - the suffering scream of a jock being hit by a NB.
Command interface simple and intuitive, indicators show all the needed info in an efficient and legible manner.
To point a flaw, it'd be the scrolling of the main window: you need to click the external border to move the map. The entire process should be automated.
The Mechs show really small (like tiny ants), which is a little unpleasant. He'd like them larger to see the 3D models and their animations: other than that, they suffice for the type of gameplay.
Ambient sound is good, and the sound fx for weapons are valid (if some are somewhat extravagant). The soundtrack is powerful but ??? , and only enhances the game.
In spite of the dated graphical look, he liked the game or something (and the freeware version).
But the retro look of the game should not fool the potential buyer: the RPG aspect, along with the possibility of playing net games with friends, assures an intriguing and long gameplay.
The global vote is too high for the average of the partial votes: he's sure everyone will get hooked.
The improbability of the game being distributed in Italy, you can try the european edition by JustPlay, Matrix Games, yadda yadda.
He uis sure a product of this kind would have a good chance in the italian market (with the low system specs and all).
Gamezone, one of their sites of reference, gave the game a good review.
Finally, it's a nice game, if you like board games and Mech combat. If you have the chance, buy it, you won't regret it.

It's as close a translation as I could do. And that I had the patiente to do. I think it's mostly accurate, but a few things can be off.

I don´t undertand Italian very well, but it´s similar to my language, and one thing he says i´s true. He talks about TOS being kind of a sectary game (in the good meaning of the word, and hoping that sectary exists :p ).
It´s true, the success of this game in a market is the fidelity of its players. A lot of us have been waiting for its release a long time, playing v1.1 to 1.4, but I´m afraid that now that it´s done, it´s not easy to get it, cause stores want to sell popular games that are played by everybody in everywhere, specially small stores in small cities.
Looking for WS in where I live (Albacete) and where my parents live (Sevilla) was useless, I had to go to a megastore in Madrid to find it, just as he did (luckily) in Barcelona.

We are a few (althought growing a lot since WS) but we are very loyal to TOS.
Keep doing that great job ;)
