[SOLVED] 1.00.07U72: oil and out of supply units

Post by ncc1701e »

About this correction:
Fixed out of supply air units losing strength and raiding supply

Is it supposed to work just after the beta patch installation on a started PBEM?

Air units is one thing. But, for Naval units with a supply equals to zero, why are they allowed to exit ports?

It isn't good for the game. Players are allowed to go back to a supplied port. Someone might forget about a large fleet, now it's stuck, ruins a game.

Gibraltar, Port Said and Cairo have been taken. All my troops in Egypt have been destroyed since out of supply.

Only Malta remains out of supply:
1. The land garrison lost its strength and eventually disappeared.
2. The air unit is still there and I see no impact with your correction. Its strength remains the same. Thus, my first question that you have yet to answer.
3. The naval unit can continue to move. Will they be able to attack with zero supplies? I did not test yet waiting my next PBEM turn.

Cheers

The answer is yes it should work.

So the issue is imagine you move a fleet and forget him at sea for X turns. It runs out of supply because for the last 6 turns you forgot.
I don't like to do that to players. Land and air are different because you see them in your face and it's the main component. You know if you are out of supply. But I have forgotten fleets for 4-8 turns before.

OK it works with Air units. This is just that I had to wait few turns to see the strength degradation.
For Naval units, they can't attack with 0 supply so I understand there is no impact.

Thus, solved in 1.00.07U8. Thanks!
