?s on Battleground Italy and 43-45 Campaign OBs

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

?s on Battleground Italy and 43-45 Campaign OBs

1.) For the Battleground Italy Scenario, the 442d Nisei RCT is shown as arriving about May, '44 in Italy, but never leaves. One of the big exploits of the unit (as depicted in the 1951 film "Go For Broke") is where they rescue the "Lost Battalion" of the 36th Infantry Division in France. Is this just an oversight, or not a big deal to the Designers i.e. was there another American RCT that arrived in Italy when the 442d left?

2.) Just started the 43-45 Campaign, as I'm enjoying immensely the wide-scope I get from playing the 41-45 Campaign in WitE. Was curious, though; When does the Dirty Dozen unit arrive, and how may I direct it to attack Allied Officers like those b@stards, General Denton and Col. Breed?

Thanks, in advance, for your illuminating replies!

For question #1, the 1943-45 grand campaign, you can move the 442nd from Italy to France yourself. Same goes for the Canadian Corps in Italy that was moved to Northern Europe.
