RE: Server Game
We think we're within a month of getting close enough to beta to want to bring in some new testers. Probably a few months from full game play beta (i.e everything but new videos/music/manuals).

RE: Server Game
In WITE2 the Finns no move line and no attack line will be the same as in WITE? will they surely move south if Germans conquer Leningrad?
In real life they were very reluctant in acting this way, would be nice to have some hazard they remain on old borders.
Thanks

As far as I understand the Finnish front will be abstracted, so I dont think this will be a problem.ORIGINAL: MrBlizzard

RE: Server Game
In WITE2 will captured soldiers fighting for the enemy have their own manpower pool? Depending on how the WTIE2 scoring works, I think losing these units should also give a smaller impact to VP. In WITW it's a problem that the demoralized "captured east front" units draw from the standard German manpower pool. In fact, you're better off not using these units at all in many cases. In reality these units have been sent in first to soften up the enemy before the real attack could follow on. This was especially true in the use of German troops under Soviet command towards the end of the war. In addition, it would be an interesting mechanic if surrenders etc could help you add to this pool in the long run. Ie. no Soviet battalions with Germans until you have managed to create a Stalingrad type surrender.

I've understood that only northern tip (lapponia murmansk petsamo ) will be abstracted, the same as in WITE.
Karelia and Finns should be in game as far as I've understood

No all of Finland is abstracted as a Theatre box although if the Germans got close enough it could be triggered as being on-map?

RE: Server Game
Where can I sign up as a playtester?
RE: Server Game
I understand you get something like a Corps of Finns once Leningrad is taken, though in all the testing so far it has never happened. Lenningrad is much harder to take than in WITE1, lots of 'heavy woods' and City Forts where the defenders can stash big stacks of units.

RE: Server Game
If Leningrad is captured, there is a small chance to receive a corps of Finnish troops on the map. All of Finland is on the map (but logged as an unplayable area). We decided the Finnish front would be best dealt with in expansion scenarios, sort of like what we did with Torch in WitW. The density of units is much smaller, and we need to write some very specific AI code to deal with that. It just didn't seem worth the effort to get it into the main game. We do hope to put out Finnish front scenarios in the expansions.
As for signing up as a tester, just watch this space as I expect Matrix will come to the WitE and WitW forums when they announce they are looking for testers.

RE: Server Game
Hi, one simple question : will there be a playback of opponent turn in PBEM with WITE 2 ? As far as I remember in WITE-1 there's no replay of the human-opponent turn (just when playing against AI)
Thx
Thx

RE: Server Game
strongly doubt it, its not in any of the other WiTx games due to the programming complications and can't imagine it will be developed for WiTE2
you don't actually get a playback vs AI, just you can watch the turn unfold which is rather different

Well, this is what I meant in fact. But in WITE1 you wont see the opponent turn unfold when playing vs human in PBEM, just when playing against AI. Hence my question.

Balkans?
I've been down this road before, but its been awhile so I will ask it again. I know that you guys have been working hard on this game and I appreciate the effort made as well as I'm sure everyone else does but will this game eventually involve the Balkans? The Bulgarians switched sides when the Soviets got close and you had the Russians entering Yugoslavia. I was wondering if certain triggers, if met, could make this happen? If not possible in initial game, maybe it could happen in a future expansion of the game. I just think that it would be an excellent scenario having the Germans trying to stabilize their southern front with all the chaos going around them. [&o]
