They are just small oilers that can be used as regular oilers at small bases. They can take fuel from tankers as well. They just are smaller and slower than fleet oilers.

They are good for moving fuel between islands that are closer together as well....GP

keep them loaded at high traffic ports

TFs arriving will refuel from YOs if the port is busy

I use them to refuel small fry like PTs / MBTs / barges / AMc etc. at forward bases, esp. when sending a regular TK is risky and or "too much".
