Basra Indian Unit

Post by ice_strength »

So I am playing as Entente, and chose the decision event that allows for the Indian corp to be deployed in Basra. My opponent is also aware of this DE, and moved an Ottoman unit to garrison Basra. I didn't know this of course, and had also sent a unit to Kuwait.

When the Decision Event happens (when OE enters the war). My Indian unit didnt deploy. So did i just lose the MMP investment needlessly?

I'd hazard a guess that the Decision Event is set up so it can fire, even if the events it then triggers cannot fire because of the existence of that Ottoman unit.

Hi

The Decision Event takes place before the Ottoman Empire enters the war, but the landing at Basra won't take place until the Ottomans have entered the war.

Effectively the British are planning ahead, so you should receive the unit there once the Ottomans are in the war.

Hi Bill. sadly no unit appeared. Because the ottomans had placed a unit in Basra in preparation for the war. So when war happened, the announcement of the deployment appeared, but no unit appeared.

That is very strange as the presence of an Ottoman unit should not prevent the territory from switching to UK ownership. Did that happen?

Yes it did. So thankfully I had a unit in Kuwait that helped allow me to send units into the Persian Gulf. But Basra remains Ottoman.
