You guys are correct, of course, but I still don't like the Euro Hornets much [:'(]

Murder hornets likely years away from reaching Maryland, expert says

The European hornet is the largest hornet in Maryland right now. Not to be confused with the Asian giant hornet.

So did the our friends the Chinese figure out how to get these dangerous hornets into the US and Canada? Before you scoff and chastise me, remember this:

Fu-Go balloon bomb

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fu-Go_balloon_bomb

A Fu-Go, or fire balloon, was a weapon launched by Japan during World War II. A hydrogen balloon, it was designed as a cheap weapon intended to make use of the jet stream over the Pacific Ocean and drop bombs on America.

And to go a step further, there was this possible nightmare:

Operation Cherry Blossoms at Night

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation ... s_at_Night

... was a 1945 Japanese military plan to wage biological warfare upon civilian population centers in Southern California with plague-infected fleas.

Late to the party.

Murder Hornets was my favorite '80 band. Yellow and brown spandex. Ah, the good old days.

"If they do get to Maryland and you see a murder hornet, Raupp said if you see just one, smash it and kill it."

I found this comment from an entomology professor interesting. I've always heard that crushing a hornet/wasp will release pheromones that will result in worse attacks from the hive/nest.

Get enough of them and they dress up just like shrimp, I'm not sure what they'd taste like...

Ask the Japanese. Apparently they eat the nasty buggers and use the venom in a liquor. [&:]

Ask the Japanese
When your choice is Rice or ... Rice, I guess just about anything will show up on the menu, be that Hornets in Japan or Bats in China.

Nice to read that good old fashioned racism is still going on.

I do not understand how that is racist. To me, it is more of a necessity to use all food types available. I mean, look at the Swedes who will eat rotting herring.

The kind of junk food available at state fairs and festivals is not exactly high class eating.
