OH NO! It is a long weekend for people in the US! Maybe they should go to cemeteries and remember those who fought for their freedoms so they could have holidays!

Not that I mind people going to cemeteries, or remembering those who died in wars. However, why does one need a holiday to so? And why does one need to visit a graveyard to remember them? [&:]

Although, I do see the point for us elders taking the youngsters to graveyards so that they can better understand.

I once took my teenaged nephew to this graveyard and it had a profound impact on him.

You don't need a special day nor a holiday. But you are correct about bringing young people to the the graveyards because too many in certain places forget or were never taught the reason for the day. Too many in the US just think of the Memorial Day weekend as the start of the summer season and not the reason for the day.
