bases and taskforce icons replacement

Post by azura987 »

Hi!

If I remember well there used to be a way to replace with mods the bases icon (nationality, especially the japanese) and the task forces ones (the colour), I've been looking the forum but haven't found any, can someone help me ?

I don’t know if there are any pre-made ones available.

You can do your own custom colors.

You need a color replacement tool for that.

I use Libre Office.
It is a free word processor suite that comes with a program called Libre Office Draw.
That program (in tools) has a Color Replacement that is easy to use.

You can copy the buttons and map icons down to your desktop and open them in Libre Office Draw
then change the color as shown below. 3 easy steps to custom colors.

It can be tricky depending on the quality you want to get.
If you look closely you can see that there is a shadow around the icons.
Some colors will work better than others.

Also, there is another catch. Libre Draw won’t let you save it back direct as a bitmap(.bmp)file
but it will let you export it as a .bmp and when you do you want the exact pixel size of the original.
You can use paint convert it to a bitmap.

I can help you with that if you want to undertake the project.
I never have because I’m too lazy and I’m O.K. with the standard.
