Ground support intercept doctrine faulty

12.05, server game. I'm aware I can set fighter ranges lower but this shouldn't be happening at all.

Yeah, I've kind of given up on the air settings and just set all fighter range to 1 if I don't want them flying as there seems to be lots of funkiness. The other thing I noticed is that if you set ground support escort to 0 and set all fighters to range 1, it seemed like there were cases that ground support didn't fly at all for close battles where if I instead set ground support escort to 5+ then it seemed to work fine.

I have checked the code and when it comes to escorts it tries to be more clever rather than just using settings given by player. For all missions, except ground support, it checks enemy interception settings, while for ground support it checks enemy ground support escort settings. It then uses max of those two settings. So you can use higher escorts than your enemy interception/gs escort settings, but not lower.
