This it totally BIZARRO, but yet still slitghtly related to TOAW

Post by Hellen_slith »

SO, as you can tell, I have been posting this morning, even unto the times that I decided that I'd had enough, so I battened down the hatches to the "smoke shack" and gathered my stuff and went inside to the Castle Keep: HQ.

I laid down a bit, then got up to play some more TOAW. I was going to log in to my server games and check on FitE1, but screen says, "Trouble! We can't find an internet connection!"

Hmmmmmm. Strange. Cable is plugged in the back of computar... still No Signal, let's see what up .... NO CABLE TO BOX THING??!! W...T...H. I had JUST been using this rig not an hour prior, and now .... CABLES ARE NOT RIGHT???!!!

It is as if someone, or something, walked in, unplugged cables all about and then twisted them all up into a Gordeon Knot, and now I an struggling to untangle this mess. Seriously, W ... T ... F????

Total BIZZARRO I mean, like, WTH??

PS: no kids, and Kitty is outside.

Ok, curiouser and curiouser here. It is as if one of my CAT5 cables has simply ... disappeared.

This is horse malarkey of the finest aroma. WTH??? Okay, tracing all the CAT5 connections throughout the house now.
I know my feed comes from the bedroom next door, up through the attic...but that one seems to be need inspection.

Maybe a squirrel got into the attic there, and starting pulling or chewing on those connections,
and somehow pulled enough to SNAFU the connections I'm trying to fix?? That is the ONLY natural explanation I can think of ATM.

Man, that was a SPOOKY of the "Close Encounter" kind, let me TELL you,
esp. when I am taking medication for my bursitus, courtesy of Dr. Green.

I told her, she needs to change my prescription. Too much Indica in this.
It makes my bones feel tired and rubbery.

Ok. It is squirrels. That is what I am going to tell myself.
Squirrels.
SHEW!!! (PS: this house IS haunted, btw. So that why I spooked so radically.
ANYWAY: to my opponents, please pardon my brief delay in moving,
I need to fix the internet things.

Squirrels are the worst. Or raccoons. They get up there too. Opossums not so much. They don't seem to like chewing on cables. Oh, and mice can cause havoc.

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

If you do have an animal problem steel conduit will bring that to a screeching halt.

So, I managed to coax Kitty Kat into the attic to snoop around.

He wound up with one of these, the dreaded ... TEXAS HORNED LIZARD!

Definitely some attic work to be done here.
That wasn't ghosts in the attic shuffling about at night.
It were squirrels and their allies, Texas Horny Toads.

What's next? Zebra Bugs?
Def. need some steel conduit, and a good attic cleaning! LoL!

LoL, reminds me of my ol' Drill Instructor circa 1983 or so ....

OK, Hellen, DROP!!! PUSH UP TIME!!!!

{before Basic, I had been back on the block too long, could not quite get strength enough ...
Drill put me on extreme workout regimen: any time the rest of the guys stood at Parade Rest or At Ease in formation ....I dropped, and did push ups. One day some Major walked by and asked Drill, "Is this man being punished?" He said, "No, Sir! He LIKES doing pushups!"
The Major turned to me, or rather, looked down upon the back of my head b/c my face was planted in the dirt, trying to get one more pushup: "Soldier?"
"THAT IS CORRECT, SIR! I LIKE DOING PUSHUPS!!!!"
Carry on, then. And I passed the physicals, finally.
Good times LoL

Update from the Smoke Shack:

Weather incoming. PREPARE THE TORNADO SHELTER!!!!

LoL the proper procedure here in Tornado Alley is,
when you hear the Tornado Siren wailing .....
GO OUTSIDE AND WATCH!!!!!! And then, you dive into your
already prepared shelter, and go "OMG OMG OMG" it is like a train coming through.

And, of course, you shepherd the Squirrels, Horny Toads, and Zebra Bugs into their atticy homes. TO THE SHELTER!!!

Update: I think she's going to swing East here soon, and possibly even die out.

But, you never know with these storms. Could grow suddenly and spin up a TORNADO!!!!

WATCH OUT!!! I'm thinking, if you in the Ozarks right now, you might check the shelter; correction: West Tennessee .... JIC!

Okay, well, have a great night!

Lightning is the worst problem. Can hit a block away and still take out your computer. Had a strike a few years ago that hit the next street and lost my MoBo, router, vid card and power supply. Left everything else in the computer alone. Had a UPS but had the router plugged into the wall. [:D]

Yes, lightning very scary, I was knocked on my butt once by a strike 50 yards away, and I was INSIDE my apartment (granted, I was standing at a window, watching the show of course)!

Here, at Castle Keep, we live on a hilly area, lots of old trees, lots of old lightning rods in the ground,
and when it comes in low, WATCH OUT!!!

I watched some sheet lightning go THROUGH AND ALONG the walls of my house one fine day,
following the electrics ... that was freaky deaky man, I was cowering in fear going, "please go away, please go away!" Yeah, I hates the lightning. A tornado, I got a chance by running to the nearest ditch. Lightning: Ka-POW!!!

Okay, well, first wave has passed, time to check on the next wave! INCOMING!!!!

Sun's out, Guns out!
Man, what a DRENCH!
A good six inches fell,
soaked the ground, so today,
I took up the old dead tree...
managed to just push it over,
then dragged the carcass to the curb.
They (city) will send the claw grabber thing soon,
and ... there she goes!!!!!

Kitty was very excited about this development,
was cavorting all around the bushes and ye olde dirt that's leftover....
while I was raking and cleaning and planning new flowers.
Kitty I think is planning, that his new bed at night (where the old tree used to be).

Okay, well, back to yard work!

LoL I was sitting there, thinking, looking at Kitty
and he was stretched out, Sphinx-like, on a little kitty stoop.....

and I was about to take more "medication",
suddenly ....
he SPROINGS straight up, and half way across the yard.

SPROING ...... I'm like, "W....T....H...."

It was a bug, I think, that startled him.
But MAN, that SPROING !!!!

I wish I had that cameral thing everyone has,
but ... naw. That's ok :)
