why hex flip

Can someone explain to me why these hexes next to my airbases/hq would flip to german side.

We have our own example from the 2x3+ Team Game depicted in the attached screenshots. Between Axis turns extra hexes magically flipped to our control which were never occupied or ZOCed by an Axis unit. And left a very curious island of Soviet territory with no Soviet units in it.

My guess is there is a divergence between the map and how it is coded for supply. For some reason there is no supply possible through the swamp hexes next to the Caspian north of Lagan going towards Astrakhan.

another reason to make Port Astrakhan a supply source!
hehe

oh, and also, the town at the tip of the estuary flips, that then locks up the port. Nice double whammy!

this is all instantly fixed if Port Astrakhan is made a supply source.

At least by the manual that town should not block Astrakhan as it is not a port and there is another sea hex that can be used to go around it?

That said if it did work that way I think that would be historical as shore based artillery would block that estuary in reality.
