I don't use a '4k monitor', so I can not attest to how much (if any) this will have an effect.
One thing I did was make a copy of the 'ARIALBD' font file & rename it to 'SMALL5'.
I then replaced the 'small5' file (backed up of course) with the 'SMALL5' (caps work, & lets me know it is an edited version).
It worked for me per some of the text & numbers.
There are many 'font files' in the font folder, so experimenting with these per exchanging them for a more readable font could make a difference.
Of course, work with copies to avoid...having to re-install.
