The MOST rainfall I've seen yet!! My city is surrounded by farmland, has two lakes and a river next door!

I claimed a Mathenum (? - monastery hex perk that gives +25 BP) and tomorrow when I resume I'll build my first road to it.

Sounds good, just keep the Major's happy and roll over the farmers nearby. If you can't expand, go to war early with a Major and take them out before they get too strong.

I think I read somewhere that unique hex perks don't actually need to be connected to roads to give their bonuses? Can anyone else confirm?

well you only require a zone road is useless except if you planned to build a city upon it later.

Yes, thats correct, it only has to be connecter to your borders, no roads needed.

I got a similar planet with +90% farmers, good rainfall, low mountains but the planed was old +4M years. I selected the difficult of beginner and I started to regret it, the majors didnt grow and my empire is too strong since the turn 25 (Right now I'm at 52). But good luck with all of these majors :)[:D]

Yes, thats correct, it only has to be connecter to your borders, no roads needed.
