CD back up

I ordered FireFight and the CD backup over a month ago. I've downloaded the game, but have NOT gotten the CD yet. What do I do?

I have the same problem. I sent an email to the e-store customer service, but only got an automated reply email. Nothing more, no CD either.

I don't see anything on the product page that says you get a CD - it says download only.

You have the option to order a Backup of the download on CD while purchasing downloads.

Please contact Digital River again, maybe even via phone. If nothing helps please let us know. Thanks.

Can you please post the contact info for them? Email is obviously ignored by them. And it will sure suck to pay long distance charges to get something I've already paid for, but if that is the only option I will.

Hi Guys

Daniel and myself are are away but we will look into this when we get back in. Let me ask a possible silly question just to make sure there are no mistakes. In order to get the CD On Demand you must check the box and there is a $10.00 or so fee. If this is the case pleae email me at davidh@matrixgames.com with any sales or invoice information you may have.

It may take a us a little time but I will work everything out.

I ordered the Mega Campaign Desert Fox CD in July and never received it or a human response to phone or several email inquiries.
I'll send my order information to the above address and see what happens.

I got the emails and even tried calling Digital Rivers but heheheh I forgot its a holiday. We will take care of this and find out what the problem is and I will make sure we get the proper contacts to deal with this much faster in the future.

Even though the backup cd is only ten dollars, it makes me hesitant to purchase anything else through Matrix.

I bought Titans and Korsun through Gamestop or EB and had no problems. Its been two months for me and no word.

I can understand the desire to get a cd backup, and the worth of a cd back up, what I can't understand is the need to sell a cd back up.

Ok to put it into perspective, I can't picture anyone not having a cd burner in their computer any more much, heck I have a good spare drive sitting upstairs right now unused because I just bought a dvd burner drive (and it will do both types).

Then you add that even if good fortune has you not owning one, surely you know someone that does. I mean how isolated can a person be today? And I would hope that if you had at least one friend, you would have a person sufficiently competent that they could just swap your drive into their computer, stick in a blank cd, and copy the game for you. This ain't rocket science after all.

And yes, I know that sounds like pirating (how the heck do you think pirates do it). But in this case, you are actually doing it legit so you should not be fretting. That IS after all the supposed purpose of cd back up software (or that is what they always go to great lengths to say).

The cost of a single blank cd is peanuts. The ability to get a cd burner is I would think very easy. And the software to do it can be found online as free demos.

So my question is, what is with all the fuss?

Aside from the fact that it might take a little bit of time for the retail cd to get to your home, but considering you already have the files (you did download it after all) what is with the rush?

If I had the game by download, and the cd took me a while to get, it would merely mean it took me a while to get. Not even worth the hassle of getting upset about it.

You're right about burning cds, I have already burned an SPWaW backup and others, I just thought it would be nice to have the Matrix Mega Campaign backup.

The free SPWaW download from Matrix is worth much more to me than a ten dollar CD backup.

If I lost the ten dollars its no sweat. I am concerned about placing orders for more expensive games from Matrix. Apparently there was a problem that Matrix wasn't aware of. What's wrong with bringing it to their attention. I thanked them for their help and got an initial response. Believe me Les, my life is not revolving around a backup CD.

Give me a break, I know all about CD burning.

Hey David

For my part, its no big deal whether I end up getting the CD. Don't invest a lot of time tracking mine down. On the other hand, if there are things to be sorted out as to why people haven't received their orders, that would be more important.

Matrix has given me a lot more enjoyment then any other company and I appreciate it.

Well good news, my back up CD arrived today. Hoah! Now i know I could have burned it myself, but I tried to be legit and help out Matrix. I will admit, I am hesitant to order again. And some of the games look pretty cool too.

I understand Les, sometimes it is hard to read into a person's intent in an email.

Matrix is high on my list of favorites. I never get tired of SPWaW, its by far one of my most played games - and it was free! You can't do better than that.

I have since purchased Titans and Korsun through Gamestop or EB but I'm assuming its better for Matrix to buy direct from them. There are titles coming up that I'm considering.

Its almost embarassing to bring up a situation such as a ten dollar backup cd. As I said earlier, I thought maybe there was a bigger issue that might need to be addressed.

At least Matrix has a live person (David) dealing with it.
