Airbase undo bug

Post by eskuche »

Damaged aircraft remain damaged after undo. Not sure if this is fixable easily. 12.05.

Would this not be correct, if they were damaged they should remain damaged?

Newly damaged aircraft remain damaged* [:)]

Edit: context was moving slovakians but moved the base too far to transfer so undid and saw that 2 aircraft remained newly damaged. Perhaps one extra airbase could be added for Hungarians and Slovakians given the ban of intercountry Kabuki?

Do you mean aircraft damaged from movement of the airbase they are in?

Correct, so if one is testing airbase ranges for transfer repeatedly using undo, for example, you actually take multiple aircraft damage! After trying to replicate it, it only appears to happen with ~10% frequency for undos. Weird bug.

After more testing, looks like the fatigue accumulates cumulatively with undos, that is, if you move point 0 to point 100 and the fatigue changes from 0 to 10, pressing undo will reset the fatigue to 0, but even if you move from point 0 to point 5, the airframes will gain a minimum of 10 fatigue plus the new fatigue from point 0 to point 5, even if the subsequent moves are much shorter than the initial moves!

By the way, I am moving airbases overground because in some instances it's preferable to move overland with airgroups that have flown (and sometimes when you must manual upgrade the airframe and still move the airbase) than stay in place. I wanted to gauge the fatigue from moving certain distances but it looks undoing moves is bad.

Yeah, I had noticed higher fatigue after undoing moves as well but never really took a close look at it.

Solution is simple, make sure you don't have to undo then you wouldn't have a problem.

I can see what will be the patchers solution - ban airbase move undos. They did this with similar problems like the sending to national reserve after airbase move. Which of course then just locks in the problems.

Yeah, if its not easy to fix rather than banning it, the best approach might be to just document it in the patch notes and manual.
