Model design fuel calculation preview seems wrong

Post by moonpxi »

In the model designer, for each possible engine it gives you a preview of the fuel consumption for the unit. However, the value seems to be very often incorrect. Worth mentioning there is not fuel optimization tech involved.

An example of designing a light tank, with the heaviest gun and armor:
- 200 engine power, weight 620, previewed fuel usage 3.6, actual fuel usage 3.1
- 300 engine power, weight 635, previewed fuel usage 7.2, actual fuel usage 6.2
- 400 engine power, weight 650, previewed fuel usage 10.8, actual fuel usage 10.8

Furthermore, in some quick analysis, it seems that the calculation is not taking into account the current weight under design. I get the same values per engine in the preview if I pick the lightest gun/armor or the heaviest gun/armor. The actual model will be created with the correct amount, which will differ from the ones previewed.

I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out the formula for fuel consumption, but still have not gotten it. If someone have it, can you let me know please? [:(]

AFAIK its up to your model design on how high they get the "engine" roll, if its 100% the fuel usage will be like that, otherwise it could be better or worse

No sorry there Clux, seems moonPxi is right. Will improve the preview for the next Open Beta.
