Minors without a town

Post by The Gnome »

Hi, had a "Surviving AI" minor wardec on me early game. I destroyed what I think are all of his units, but he has a tremendous amount of territory, but no town. Couple of questions:

- Sooner than build roads and a massive logistics train to gobble up his territory, which I'd have trouble holding, is there any other way to completely destroy them?

- If the minor's forces are all destroyed, can he replace them without a town or city?

Thanks in advance for any help!

- Yes kill all their units.

-Because they cannot build more.

This is not entirely true. I think some minors, like slavers, may spawn without a settlement but can draw recruits and spawn new units in they are near population, cities or free folk. Still if you kill every slaver unit, they will not come back.

Surviving AIs can be kinda scary first time they spring on you but they are not too bad to deal with, so long as you are not already committed elsewhere. They have hard hitting Sentinels but each unit only has one or two subunits (10 or 20 robots) and they generally don't have many units.

Apparently they can sometimes highroll and be much nastier. Haven't had that experience yet or had them strike at a super-inconvenient time. They also only become aggressive towards factions that are TL 4+ so you will not be overrun in the very early game by units you cannot possibly kill. Well unless you start it...

You can stop sentinels from attacking you by preventing by forming a simple straight line, blocking them from advancing. They will not attack.

Tech level 4 usually you know that once you get the padded armor for infantry+automatic rifle.

Umm... will they really never attack? If so, that's way less scary.

On regular I normally just encircle and destroy them. Killing sentinels is easy, even with infantry, especially if you have GRs or your own unit of sentinels.

They will definitely go round if they can though and sentinels can move through most (all?) terrain so a blocking strategy will only work in some situations.

Encircle and kill is quite easy you just need the 1st light infantry with 5500 manpower you got exactly 6 unit to do that + you can add a recon or light tank to help too.
