Discovery not possible while it should be possible

I get conflicting reports. According to the tech screen MIL discoveries are possible, but the MIL council states no discoveries are possible (and has a boatload of points in the bank).

I'm writing this up as a bug cause barring missing tech a discovery should always be possible in revealed categories right?

Or the cost just higher then the amount banked?

1.03beta4, slower research speed.

I had a similar issue. Perhaps some techs have other techs as prerequisite?
I got the same mixed messages - on Tech screen it stated that Battledress discovery is possible, while on Military Research council it stated that no discovery is possible.
But on the turn I finished researching Walker Hydraulics I immediately discovered Battledress.
Or the message you see in Organisations screen can be purposely deceiving.

He showed uns Advanced Combat Armor, as well as the tooltip saying it is a Discoverable.

Sounds more like you had a bug and getting a tech "unstuck" discovery.

SO tech's have prereq's yes, like guided RPG needs RPG.. in this case, that's not the issue.. the tooltip would have stated it.

Guided RPGs do not require RPGs and I also cannot discover Heavy Combat Armour in my current game. Tech's definitely bugged.

Note, as I discovered to my shock, developing RPG troopers requires RPGs. Discovering and researching guided RPGs does not. Though it probably should or they should be in different fields or both.

Seems like exactly the same issue for me.


What is the tech "unstuck" discovery?
The other thread I've created is for a separate issue, if that's what you were getting at.

I meant that perhaps there are some hidden prerequisites, not stated anywhere. Otherwise it's a bug.

The Tech Management Window was not taking special and pre-req conditions into account. Will be fixed upcoming Open Beta.
