Air supply drops

Post by Cavalry Corp »

In war in the West I'm trying to work out how you can drop air supplies to isolated units? Not sure what I'm missing but there does not seem to be any easy way to see it. Any help appreciated thank you.

It's kludgy to do the correct clicks. Here you go:

1. Make sure your transport groups are set to Day or Night
2. Press F9 twice to get to Freight mode
3. LEFT-click on an airbase (ideally on a depot which has lots of Stored Freight) nearby where the transport groups are
4. SHIFT-RIGHT-click on the target (ideally an airbase, so there's less loss due to airdrops)
5. Select the air groups you want to use, then click LAUNCH

The key thing is the left click v. the right click at the correct point, and also the Left-click on an airbase to start the process.

Well thank you very much for the reply. Why oh why is it so much more complicated than war in the East. I also understand there is an issue that these planes can never be intercepted. I hope they sort this out in a patch. In a game where the detail is down to the very last pilot it means that every detail has to be taken care of nothing can be easily abstracted without detracting from the game. I will print this off for future use. Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
