Handbook does not specify Pinned/Retreat/Kill Hit chances

Post by zgrssd »

The handbook at 5.10.15.3 only says "If a hit is scored based on the statistics of the Subunit attacking it is determined if it is a Retreat Hit, Kill Hit or Pinned Hit."
Then goes on to describe the 3 hit types.
Then just goes to modifiers.

At no point is explained how it is determined if you got a Retreat/Kill/Pinned hit. Simple 1D3 roll? Something based on how far the attack roll was over defense roll? Bigger die with more chances for non-kill hits?

There are a number of feats that change the odds. But we can not evaluate it, without knowing the default rules. And particulary with attacking Cities, I really need to know the odd for a pinned hit (so I can hopefully game them).

I'll see if i can add this detail to the combat or design logs. Added to the to-do list.

Best wishes,
Vic

The design logs? [X(]
That would have not been my first choice to have the Retreat/Pin/Kill chances listed!
But thinking about it, the weapon could make a difference. MG's are usually better for Pinning and Retreat Forcing, then killing. Same with some smaler calliber Artillery or Howitzers, with larger ones being better at killing. I did not expect that level of Detail.

But now I am even more intrigued how that works.[:)]
