So, are they
(a) somewhere in the game I haven't gotten to yet,
(b) a miscommunication between author and illustrator, or
(c) a subtle hint of things to come in a future version?
... and, how about air forces while we're at it [:)]

I like the game without airforce and navy with water as a barrier. I also like the limit amount of fuel limits the number of heavy tanks. Airforce and navy would require a ton more fuel than tanks. I like the more sci-fi Madmax combat as navy and airforce would turn the game just another ww2 game. Of course I'm probably in a minority.

Its because its not as simple as just adding them. For example, what type of liquid allows ships, can they move on Lava lakes? Methane Lakes? Also what atmosphere would be required, and how would the massive variation in gravity and atmosphere effect planes viability.ORIGINAL: FAA
I have no idea why the base game doesn’t have planes already, seems like an essential part in every wargame.
