Sometimes decision outcome sound+screen is not shown

This is a rare but consistent issue I've had (a few times every game), probably at least since 1.03, and remains in the betas.

Sometimes when I choose an option in a Decision, instead of sound effect + outcome popup screen - the decision window just closes. The outcome of the event/decision does occur normally (you can see the profile change, or a city related outcome for example).

This is not reproducible - i.e., if I saved at turn start, made a choice on a decision screen that happened to have this issue of no sound/popup, then reloaded and remade the choice - I will get a normal sound/popup for that decision. I've tried this multiple times when I've had a start-turn save, and this issue never reproduced after reload and retry. So not much to show here, except a guess it's some occasional internal error (like failing to load a sound file or something).

I think it is not only related to decisions. I get this sometimes when trying to open character window and only thing that happens is that the left bar is partially cut and hidden but comes back when you pan the map

Yes I have this happening too. There is at least one other thread about this. However, so far no one has found a consistent way of triggering this to happen.

Quite consistent (3/3), seemingly so far, for me in the 1.03 beta 11.

Start a new game.
Decide on policy.
No decision result screen!

I can read about it in the Decision Archive but I'd much prefer seeing the decision outcome dialog!

Right. Its hard to catch this bug. It is consistent for you. But I cannot repeat it... so
you must be doing something I am not doing.

Could you send over your peferences (the editobj.txt file) to vic@vrdesigns.net and also tell me your screen resolution?

The fact you have a repeatable case makes it very interesting.
