"Deep Rebels" appearing in the middle of my regime with no info/vid screen/letterbox? 1.03b11

I have units of "Deep Rebels" appearing in the middle of my regime (cutting my supply lines in the middle) with no notification or reason what so ever (no defection of unsatisfied leader, no vid screen notice, nothing in the letterbox).
Just noticed them by chance, while wondering why my front is suddenly completely unsupplied.

Is VERY probably related to an earlier action concerning a story event with an AI mainframe being found in one of your Zones. If you upset the AI it might activate hidden dormant Walkers under its control. It is not sending you any note about this.

Indeed, yes. That'd be a good explanation to have in-game in some form. I would not have thought the two are connected on my own, so rather than being a nice storyline - it was just puzzling.

I had a similar situation except mine wasn't a sentinel but a 2400 man rifle team. No idea why they appeared as all of my leaders are happy as was my town?
