Bottleneck issues

Post by Sieppo »

I was having big trouble getting my troops supplies bc of bottlenecs created around my SHQ just because I think the single rail and roadways into it kept throttling up. Rail station 3 and truck station 4. Everything was solved until now by building second entry lines into the capital. Nothing else was changed. So actually multiple entryways are better than just trying to get as much logistical points into an entry as possible?

Second picture with some of the bottleneck issues still persisting BUT is used to be black just before my capital. I understand this is just logical how the issue resolved itself. More rails needed!

Nope, a single powerfull line is better then a lot of mediocre ones - unless you are actually trying to reach several endpoints.
But even if there are multiple endpoints, you want to keep on one line until you are as close as possible.

The diagonal line in the north/east is getting in the way. If the stuff wanted to go on the left or right track, it could have choose so in the city. 1/4 of the right line and 1/8th of the left will actually end up going back to the city!

Actually I built that line to help with the issue before the second ones into the capital and it seemed to help. The line with the arrow was causing me the most troubles and I thought it could just not handle all the movement into the SHQ. Really dont claim to understand the system :D..

If the issue was a bottleneck along the left or right line, you need to put more onto the left or right line. Connecting them will bleed some of the better line to the weaker one, but at the cost of both now being more vulnerable to a bottleneck then just adding capacity to the problem line.
And any extra Logistics points you add to either, will end up bleeding into the other one.

A important part of directing traffic, is to not give them too many options they can get lost in.
