Rail Move Not Working

Rail move does not work for my newly arrived units west of Berlin. They have full strategic movement but the button for rail move is greyed out for them and not for other units.

The units are not frozen because their MP is shown and I can march them to the front lines.

Some units that are closer to the front can use the railroads just fine. At first I thought that you could only board a certain number of units on trains every turn, but I detrained all my front line units already and that is not an issue. The manual does not have an answer for this issue. Any ideas? Thanks

What does the top right of your screen say when you press F2? What does the bottom of your production screen (p) say for reserved rail?

The Rail Cap on the F2 screen says "3518." I do not see anything talking about "reserved rail," but my Production Screen shows that my Railyard Capacity is 412. Is there another place to look up the reserved rail?

It is quite possible that your units that arrived in Germany cost more than 3518 to move by train. You can check this on their units details as it will say how much is their transport cost. Detraining other units will not bring back rail capacity, by having been on a train during the turn it has already used rail capacity. How many units do you have entrained, or had entrained? If it is a lot it is quite possible you have used a lot of your rail capacity already and there is not enough for those units you now want to entrain.

Happened to me in Scenario 16 road to Dnepropetrosk but no other scenario. Never worked out what caused it.

If your playing the latest patch (I think) there's a setting at he bottom of the production screen 'Reserved rail' that allows you to set aside how much is used for troop transport. Cost APs to change. I beleive 10% is default I've st it to 20% but no idea what is optimal.
