Colors of Other Regimes

Post by Kriegsspieler »

I encountered an odd problem in my most recent game. One of the other regimes I bumped up against turned out to have a nearly identical color for its units as my own units.

So that raises an obvious question -- can other regimes' colors be changed by the player, or do they have a deep and unyielding attachment to their founding hue? From what I have been able to see, there seems to be no way to do such a thing.

So that leads to the next obvious possibility -- can I change my own units' colors without going in and editing a graphics file?

I am using the eddyvegas graphics mod, if that makes any difference.

Hey, just to let you know, my mod doesn't touch the units or their colors.

This isn't much help, but it does seem that the AI picks pretty drab colors (just my experience, no proof). So maybe you could pick a brighter color for your troops next game. Of course, that assumes you don't mind looking at that color for 200 turns.

Or you could pick pink. No self respecting AI would pick pink. [:D]

Ok, thanks for this. I hadn't meant to put this post in the graphics sub-forum, but the answer probably wouldn't be any different in the general forum.

But while I have your attention, I might as well ask you this -- IS there an easy way to edit other regimes' colors? Not that I'll bother to that; it's far better to proceed as you suggest.

Man I have no idea. The colors come from that Windows color picker thing. I wouldn't know where to look or what to do.
