A result worthy of the Italian navy. May your navy do almost as well in our game

The Graf Spee's next adventure is an inconclusive battle against the Ranger in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

The further adventures of the Graf Zeppelin.

We tried raiding in the Atlantic but it was rather ineffective.

Next it goes to the Med to help Italy, where it encounters the Glorious.

As the Allied player in that game, I can tell you that Churchill probably lost his job in 1941. Since then Britain has only held Scotland. This of course triggered Spanish entry into the Axis, followed by the fall of Gibraltar and Portugal. Gibraltar more than anything gives him the freedom to do well in the naval game. It is unfortunate that British ports south along the African coast or in South America cannot be represented. The current map puts all of my good bases mostly out of range of key shipping lanes, thereby letting him ravage my convoys almost unopposed (as much due to vagaries of the map as anything).

That's what you have oilers for. They are only 30 PP and 60 days to build. You can therefore keep 9 ships on station permanently for only 10PP per turn.

I was worried it was pure folly to build a German carrier. But so far it is paying off, and boy is it fun!

Latest results (it also scores a single hit on the Nelson BB):

I keep expecting it to meet a tragic end. It's currently in dry-dock while the Allies are invading France.

I'd still rather have 2 panzers corps, but I don't regret building it - it's been fun to test out. Two carriers
as Germany would be absolute madness though.
