[1.04b1] Zone border recalculation consequences

Post by Malevolence »

There may be two issues here. I do not know if they are related.

(1) Zone border recalculation causes consequences

(2) Declaring war in the same turn as a resolution of relations demand causes both war and peace

Per the image, the player surrounds the capital of a minor regime that holds a single zone--bombards the city and begins a war (turn 10).

The next turn (turn 11), the Northwestern (upper left) portion of the enemy zone becomes a new zone--unaligned.

The southern (bottom) and eastern (right) portions of the enemy zone becomes a new zone--owned by the same minor regime with a new zone name.

The original zone only consists of the surrounded city hex.

All recon of the enemy's hexes are lost and the 2 assigned spies become worthless, now assigned to a zone of one hex.

For reference, Game Build v 1.04-beta1; Scenario Build v1.04-beta1; Last Game Build used 104-beta1; Scenario Version Number #41.

I am running a Win 10 Pro 64bit, Intel i7-1065G7, 16GB RAM. It is a Surface Pro 7, connected to 2560x1600 display monitor via USB-C. That's Intel Iris Plus integrated graphics.

To add to the confusion, the minor regime selection report shows a Peace status--when selecting a hex within the new zone.

Also, the minor regime selection report shows a Peace status--when selecting the one hex within the original zone.

Moving a unit in to the new zones requires another war declaration with the subsequent regime issues.

Root of the issue?

This decision was made during the same turn (turn 10) that war was declared and the bombardment started.

The images with all the zone recalculation problems are from the subsequent turn (turn 11).

I indicated to Driftmount we would be friends, in order to increase mind. I attacked them anyway as I have two promises, one to declare war and another to conquer the city. This dichotomy appears to have created a neurosis in the mind of the diplomatic code.

This is the overview of Demands and Promises for Turn 11. The promise trigger for war did not activate after the last turn (turn 10).

This is all in a shambles and will need some savescumming to repair.

After a reload, not surrounding the city avoided a zone recalculation. The consequences were avoided. This, however, is a very poor way of avoiding the issue.

Oddly, I noted that two militia regiments spawned inside the enemy zone in two separate places. You can view one in the image. If it causes zone border issues the next turn, that will not be helpful. (Rebels Joined Your Faction event)

Not making the decision resulted in the war declaration sticking. However, the delegated decision was not optimal.

This hack to avoid the errors resulted in an unwanted and exaggerated shift toward fist. I also missed the previous savegame's results with respect to the two factions--they did not move their viewpoints as I had manipulated previously.

I am unsure of the outcome had the delegated decision been for peace. Would the errors have persisted the next turn?

Well, then I guess I disagree with the intention. [8D]

Seems to be work as intended.
Just to be sure:
It is intended that you can be at war and at peace with the same Regime at the same time?
That you can be in a war with Shroedingers Cat?
