Thanks Lowpe i am unable to get that. If you can try in a port that have thousand of tons of resources but no resource source in it.

It looks like it wastes fuel and puts the convoys in more danger since they don't hug the shallow waters where defences can be better.

Correct but it does save a few clicks once set up. Japan probably can use it thru 1943 sometime, while the Allies could use it all game.

Well this thread was certainly enlightening. In the past I've used Auto Convoy from SF, but limited use to Continental USA and Alaska bases since there really isn't enough ASW equipped escorts in USN in beginning of war. Later on in the war I used SC to guard hi traffic US ports. From Cape Town and Columbo I've used CS convoys pretty effectively with the British and Indian escorts which are much more plentiful from the beginning of the war.

Now I have to rethink my philosophy...
