Turn 76: July 17, 1942

Germany gets heavy armor 43.

The Allies are attacking in Libya. All we can do is delay their advance.

In northern Russia our slow advance continues. Next turn we'll try to make
a push.

In the south we shatter a mech corps and a Siberian army. A paratrooper
is used and I fully expect a counter-attack. However, many of the best Soviet
mobile troops are tied up on the defensive lines in the north so I'm not sure how many
reserves he can possibly muster down here.

The Finns arrive in Norway. I'm using a bit more force than planned here,
but it looks like we can take back Oslo.

Turn 77: July 31, 1942

The Allies land in Scotland, taking us by surprise. The Soviets
shatter our paratrooper and Soviet aircraft bottom the CA Hipper and the CA Azul.

Erwin Rommel is made responsible for the defense of Great Britain.
Spanish and Italian expeditionary forces will also fight here instead
of the east front. No real attempt will be made to defend Ireland.

I am also a bit surprised he didn't take Glasgow. All he has at the moment
is a size one port.

In Norway I mess up. The Finns can't decide what they are doing. The division
in Trondheim mistakenly garrisons. Attacks on Oslo fail.

In Northern Russia a paratrooper helps cross the river. We are more
or less at our objectives.

In the south we shatter a mech corps and Kiev falls. We are almost
to our final objective, Krivoi Rog.

I am guessing you were trying to use a supply truck and accidentally hit the garrison button by mistake. I have done this myself several times. Would the undo button fix this? I always forget to try.

Turn 78: August 14, 1942

Allied offensives continue in Scotland and Libya.
Somewhat surprisingly we lose a corps in Libya.

Scotland has excellent defensive terrain, I have no intention of counter-attacking here.
Reinforcements are arriving, Spanish and Italian.

The Allies leave Oslo. Norway was probably just meant as a diversion.
We'll let the Finns garrison, they don't really have much else to do.

Things are not going well in Libya. The British are remarkably strong even when deprived of, well, Britain.
I don't really want to but I suppose we'll have to send some reinforcements.

Things are however going well in Russia. In the north we shatter a corps and an army,
and maul many more units. There is literally nothing between our lead panzers and Moscow
right now, but that will change in the Allied turn of course. We even risk losing a panzer
or two if SillyFlower can muster a counter-attack, but he's looking really weak. All the units
he'd need are busy on the northern frontlines.

I'm very happy with the progress we've made here. Our northern forces are drastically weaker
in air support and tanks compared to the south.

In the south Italian paratroopers help us shatter an army, and Zhukov is killed!
We've achieved our objectives, and from now on we'll just go for whatever weak units
we can target. If our northern forces swing south, we may attempt to ford the Dnieper.

Our panzer units are quite tired though.

I end the turn with a taunt for the Allied commander. Never under-estimate psychological warfare!

Here is a look at casualties so far in the war:

Turn 79: August 8, 1942

We lose two divisions in Scotland. The Soviets attack the Italian
paratrooper and score a Pyrrhic victory.

The situation in Scotland is stabilized. More Italian troops will be sent here,
as they are withdrawn from the east.

In Norway we attack but fail to take Bergen.

In northern Russia we shatter two mech corps. I'm surprised by the lack of
resistance here, I think the Soviets may be running out of reserves. A paratrooper
helps us advance towards Kaluga. Then 2nd and 8th panzers are used sparingly, ready
for one last push before the weather strikes.

The 24th corps is railed in from southern Russia.
