Proper Installation

I am having trouble finding the right files and the correct order to install them.

Is REALLY confusing and chaotic.

Regardless I wanted to thank you for your work and am very impressed that this game still has people playing it even many years later.

So count one newb in the community now.

Also yes I have asked on the discord in Hex! but have yet to see any replies

1. Install the game you downloaded.

2. Install the latest official patch. Which is actually = the 1.26a beta.

3. Install the 1.16b patch. This is better than the official version. You get it on this forum. Documentation is minimal. You are going to have to trust us on this one.

4. Search up Andymac's (or Kull's) thread here that have the improved AI modules.

5. You now have the standard game.

At this point you need to be inserting some program switches in the run target in the beta shortcut.

TLDR? Try this for a 1920/1080 screen.

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -wd -skipVideo -deepColor -dd_sw -cpu2 -pxf1872-pyf1053 -archive -altFont -autosave

6. There are a multitude of modifications. Play the standard game first, then go on from there.

Angron, install the game in the following order:

-the vanilla game (disc or digital download)
-latest official patch
-latest beta patch

Latest official patch has support for different widescreen options. If you install the latest beta without the latest official patch, you will have problems tuning game's screen resolution.
